What to Expect
Daily tours
require 3 to 4 hours of time including a half hour of gearing up, instruction,
launch time, and about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of unhurried paddling in quiet inlets
and bays. You will experience incredible scenery, perhaps viewing seal,
osprey, or eagles, terns, ducks, or perhaps even a deer at water's edge.
Temperatures
on the water can be very cool compared to ambient temperature on land. So do
wear a long sleeved shirt, bring that extra layer or windbreaker, wear long
trousers (preferably not cotton), and shoes or sandals you do not mind getting
wet. There may be weather changes including a touch of light rain or even fog.
All can enhance the trip in magical ways. The rain may give you a rainbow to
frame your vista. A gentle fog can add mystery to the magic of being on the
water.
Our guide will
always safely negotiate any challenges and make decisions based on factors at
hand. We will choose not to tour if conditions warrant. Often, for example,
there are great locations clear to paddle even though there may be fog in
another location. Check with us if you have questions.
Simply expect
a safe journey and quality time on the water.
